The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 51-year-old resident of Simferopol. A Crimean is accused of rape and other acts of a sexual nature using the helpless state of a minor victim.
The Investigation Department for the Central District of the city of Simferopol found that from March 2019 to May 2022, a man, during rare meetings with his young daughter, who at that time lived separately from his mother, committed sexual crimes against her while intoxicated. Only after a while the girl, in a confidential conversation with her grandmother, dared to report the criminal facts. The information was passed on to law enforcement— reported in the Investigative Committee.
Investigators, in cooperation with employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol, the involvement of a man in committing violent acts against a minor was confirmed. Under the burden of collected evidence, the man confessed to a series of sexual crimes against his daughter, committed from her 12th birthday until the age of 15.
At the request of the investigator, the Crimean was taken into custody by the court, where he is still being held. A sufficient evidence base was collected, the necessary forensic examinations were carried out.
At present, the investigation of the criminal case has been completed. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for the purpose of studying, approving the indictment and sending the case to court. The court will make a decision taking into account a number of aggravating circumstances, including the commission of a crime against a minor … by a parent.
