CrimeaPRESS reports:

The prosecutor’s office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 62-year-old resident of the Dzhankoy district. He was found guilty of murdering his wife (Part 1, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

In March of this year, a resident of the village of Tabachnoye sent a message to law enforcement agencies about the disappearance of her mother. When clarifying the circumstances, the husband of the missing woman put forward a version that his wife was leaving on business, but the woman did not get in touch soon. On this fact, the investigative department for the city of Dzhankoy of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). During the investigation, the circle of relatives and friends, possible reasons for leaving, a number of versions of the disappearance of a woman were worked out, among which was the commission of a violent crime against her.— recalled the circumstances of the case in the Sledkom.

Operatives and investigators have collected irrefutable information about the involvement of her husband in the disappearance of a villager. Under the weight of the evidence presented, the man confessed to committing a particularly serious crime, indicating the place where the body was hidden and describing the circumstances of the murder.

It was established that on the night of March 2 this year, a quarrel on domestic grounds took place between a husband and wife in their house, during which the man strangled his wife with a belt from a dressing gown. To hide the traces of the crime, the villager buried the deceased in a barn on the territory of their household.— noted in the Sledkom.

By the verdict of the Dzhankoy District Court, the man was found guilty of the alleged crime and sentenced to 9 years in prison in a strict regime correctional colony. The verdict of the court did not enter into force.
