A brazen thief was detained in Sevastopol

The incident occurred when the 66-year-old woman was returning home from kindergarten with her grandson. On her way to a public transport stop, a stranger approached her from behind. Noticing a gold chain with a cross on the pensioner’s neck, he pulled the jewelry. However, the torn chain got tangled in the woman’s dress, and she, without being confused, managed to throw it into her bag.
The guy, seeing this, snatched the bag from the pensioner’s hands and poured its contents onto the ground. Finding a chain with a cross, he took it and disappeared in an unknown direction. The total amount of damage amounted to 30 thousand rubles, — The details of the incident were announced by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
Employees of the patrol service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs police in the Leninsky district detained the suspect. He turned out to be a 26-year-old local resident, previously repeatedly convicted of drugs and property crimes. The defendant said that he sold the stolen chain to a thrift store and spent the proceeds on personal needs.
The investigation department of the Department of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case against the man under Part 1 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery”, he faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to four.
