A car thief was caught in Kerch. “Flashed” cars without alarms

In Kerch, the investigation of criminal cases initiated against a 31-year-old previously convicted local resident accused of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). According to investigators, the man broke into vehicles that were not equipped with alarms at night, entered the salon and took away valuables. The total amount of damage caused to the victims amounted to 95 thousand rubles.
The attacker admitted his guilt and explained that, while walking around the city, he went into one of the yards, where he saw a parked car VAZ-2102 in front of the entrance. Since the car was without an alarm, and there were no people on the street, he had the intent to open the vehicle and, if there was anything valuable in it, to steal it. The man opened the front passenger door of the car with a metal object, entered the salon, where he found a fishing rod, a reciprocating saw and a utility knife in a sheath left behind. Taking the find, the man fled.
A few days later, the person involved repeated the scenario of the previously committed theft. Only this time, he entered the interior of a VAZ-21213 car by breaking the rear door glass. As he explained, passing by a parked car, he saw a stunt bike in the back seat. Wanting to use the find for personal purposes, the attacker entered the car, took the bike and fled the scene of the crime.— told the details in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
During the investigation, it turned out that the man kept part of the stolen property for himself, and gave the rest to a friend who did not know that the property had been obtained by criminal means. Currently stolen seized and returned to the rightful owners.
The criminal case was completed and sent to the prosecutor’s office for approval of the indictment and transfer to court. A suspect can face a sentence of up to five years in prison.
