A children’s helpline operates in the Republic of Crimea
Since May 2015, a 24-hour children’s “helpline” has been operating in the Republic of Crimea with the number +7 978 0000 738.
Since April 2019, the Republic of Crimea has been additionally connected to the all-Russian helpline with the number 8 800 20000 122. When calling these numbers from landline or mobile phones, children, adolescents and their parents, and other citizens can receive emergency psychological assistance, which is provided by qualified specialists of the Crimean Republican Center for Social Services for Families, Children and Youth. This means that you can get psychological help without giving a name, for free. The confidentiality of the application is guaranteed.
The purpose of such assistance is to help prevent family dysfunction, stress and suicidal feelings in children and adolescents, protect rights and strengthen the family.
By calling the children’s helpline, a child or teenager can share absolutely any problem that concerns them with the specialist at the other end of the line. These could be difficulties in relationships with parents or peers, bad grades at school, various fears, worries about failures, quarrels with a boyfriend or girlfriend, emotional difficulties during first love, the need to get help in matters of sex education. There are cases when children call the helpline wanting to talk about abuse by parents or strangers, or sexual or psychological violence.
Parents who have encountered difficulties in raising a child or cannot find mutual understanding with their children often call the children’s helpline. Experienced psychologists are ready to help any family member, regardless of what problem they are approached with. The children’s helpline will also help mothers and fathers who do not know how to correctly answer their child’s questions and how to behave with him in certain situations.
