A concept for popularizing Russian cosmonautics among young people was presented in Crimea
The Head of the Republic of Crimea got acquainted with the results of the Interregional literary and artistic competition that ended today in Simferopol, dedicated to Cosmonautics Day and the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. Together with the delegation of the Cosmonautics Development Fund, Sergei Aksyonov discussed options for organizing and holding the event next year. According to him, Crimea is inextricably linked with the history of space exploration.
Many important projects were implemented here, and Crimeans were and are among the space explorers. I thank our guests for their active work in patriotic education of youth, strengthening traditions, as well as for promoting the image of Crimea as one of the centers associated with space explorationsaid the Head of the Republic.
According to Sergei Vostretsov, a member of the delegation and chairman of the Association of Trade Unions of Russia SOTSPROF, the main goal of the Interregional Literary and Art Competition is to popularize the achievements of Russian cosmonautics among the younger generation. Schoolchildren from the Republic of Crimea and the hero city of Sevastopol, Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions were invited to participate.
At the same time, Sergei Vostretsov emphasized his intention to transform the competition from interregional to federal in the future.
The delegation also included pilot-cosmonaut Hero of Russia Yuri Usachev, Hero of Russia Dmitry Polkovnikov, director of the Cosmonautics Development Assistance Fund Rustam Nugmanov, and others.
