A Crimean woman was involved in a criminal case on illegal possession of weapons, ammunition and hexogen

In Simferopol, during the operational-preventive event “Weapons,” employees of the criminal investigation unit of the Linear Police Department at the Dzhankoy station of the Crimean LU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on transport convicted a 51-year-old local resident of illegal possession of weapons and their main parts, as well as ammunition and explosives.

Thus, transport police found in the housewife’s home four bayonet knives and two structural elements from Kalashnikov assault rifles, a smoke bomb, an explosive based on hexogen with a total mass of more than 260 grams, as well as a Beretta firearm and 15 rounds of 5.45 mm caliber.

The suspect explained that she found the weapons arsenal in a backpack, which she accidentally found in 2021 in a forest belt near Simferopol, after which she brought it home and kept it,” the department’s press service reported.

The woman became a defendant in criminal cases initiated by investigators of the Line Police Department at the Dzhankoy station on grounds of crimes under Part 1 of Art. 222 and part 1 of Art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Now the transport police are checking the version voiced by the townswoman about the origin of the arsenal seized from her.
