A drunk driver was detained in Yevpatoria, and even without a license
Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Evpatoria stopped a Peugeot car due to violation of the requirements for light transmission of the front side windows. During a document check, external signs of intoxication were revealed in the 36-year-old driver.
The man refused to undergo an examination on the spot and began to actively resist the police officers, interfering with the performance of their official duties. The citizen did not respond to repeated legal demands to stop illegal actions, and therefore the police used physical force and special means (handcuffs) against him.
The detainee was again asked to undergo a medical examination to determine his state of intoxication, but he again responded with a categorical refusal. When checking the databases, it was found that in 2024, a resident of Yevpatoria had already been deprived of the right to drive vehicles for drunk driving— the details of the case were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
Administrative materials have been drawn up against the offender under the following articles: for driving a car with a tint that does not meet the requirements (Part 3.1 of Article 12.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), for driving while deprived of a license (Part 2 of Article 12.7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), as well as for disobedience to the legal demands of a police officer (Part 1 of Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
Based on the results of the consideration of the materials by the magistrate court, the violator was sentenced to 100 hours of compulsory labor, as well as administrative fines.
The inquiry department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Evpatoria initiated a criminal case against the citizen on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person who has a criminal record for committing a similar crime or has been subjected to administrative punishment). He faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to two years.
The car is placed in a specialized parking lot.
Dear drivers! Remember that driving while intoxicated, and even more so while deprived of your license, is unacceptable and entails not only administrative, but also criminal liability. Follow the law, respect yourself and other road users. Your safety and the safety of others is paramount!
