About this on the radio «Sputnik in Crimea» said the chairman of the branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Crimea, deputy director for science of the Tavrida cave of the Vernadsky KFU Gennady Samokhin.
We have very good interaction between the Crimean Federal University and the Russian Geographical Society. On the basis of the Tavrida cave, in agreement with the leadership of the university and the leadership of the Russian Geographical Society, the headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Crimea was created, that is, the official opening will be in this place. We will show that geography is not only textbooks, not only the globe, which is very important, but it is also territories that are very diverse in Crimeathe speaker shared.
The studio guest noted that Crimea is often known only by branded places — Swallow’s Nest, Mount Ayu-Dag and so on, but geographers discover and popularize little-known territories and objects among residents and guests of the peninsula.
We talk about Crimea — little-known Crimea, famous Crimea. We have such a direction as scientific tourism. And our colleagues make scientific excursions. For example, paleontological. Who knows that we have about thirty completely different stone mushrooms? On Meganom, in the clays, which are cross rocks, there are very beautiful arches several meters high, caves that look very impressive against the backdrop of the sea. Few people know about the natural oil lake that exists in Crimea near the Tavrida highway, – the scientist listed.
