A “harvest” of 1.8 kg of marijuana and 615 bushes cost a Crimean citizen his freedom
The Kirov District Court of the Republic of Crimea issued a guilty verdict in a criminal case of illegal cultivation of drug-containing plants on an especially large scale and possession of drugs on a large scale. The defendant in the case was sentenced to 5 years and 10 months in prison in a general regime colony.
During the trial, it was established that in May 2025, the convict illegally sowed hemp seeds in a field of watermelons near one of the villages of the Kirov region. Subsequently, he systematically looked after illegal crops. In July 2025, law enforcement agencies, during an inspection of the crime scene, discovered and seized 615 cannabis bushes, as well as about 1.8 kilograms of ready-to-use marijuana, which was stored in a car trailer. The accused fully admitted his guilt and repented of his actions, — reported the press service of the court.
The verdict did not enter into legal force.
