A magnetic storm has begun on Earth

And this is probably the last magnetic storm of October. Previously, storms were observed from the 1st to the 3rd, then the 12th and then from the 18th to the 19th, — the message says.

According to scientists, an increase in geomagnetic disturbances was expected after the planet fell into the zone of action of another coronal hole. Today’s disturbances were initially expected to be small and so far correspond to the forecast.

Currently, the storm is registered at the G1 (low) level, but may rise to G2 (medium), the Laboratory specified.

The event, however, was enough for a very significant strengthening of the aurora zone, which over the last hour had descended to the latitudes of Moscow, which, however, turned out to be completely useless — it is still too light in the central part of Russia. However, there are still chances that the polar oval will remain intense until darkthe experts added.

The day before, a large explosion was recorded on the far side of the Sun.

Overall, 2025 will see the highest solar activity over the past 11 years, there is a high probability of strong magnetic storms on Earth, scientists previously stated.
