A memorial plaque to the Hero of Russia Nikita Mechtanov was unveiled in Sevastopol

On Military Intelligence Day, Sevastopol honored the memory of a participant in a special military operation, Hero of the Russian Federation Nikita Mechtanov, by unveiling a memorial plaque. The event was attended by the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev.

Nikita Grigorievich selflessly served his Motherland, fully understanding all the responsibility and all the risk that he took upon himself. Together with his comrade-in-arms “Saint” — Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich Pastukhov — he was one of the pioneers in the drone war on the side of our Fatherland. You could say he paved the way for other fighters today. I am proud that Nikita lived in Sevastopol, and that such a hero exists in our sacred pantheon. The memorial plaque will remind every Sevastopol resident of this man who gave his life for his Motherland, for our city,” the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Mikhail Razvozhaev.

He was an absolutely unique person. Selflessly loved his homeland, giving all of himself, without regret. He walked confidently, faithfully towards his goal, and became a Hero of the Russian Federation. He was a very kind, sympathetic, wonderful person“, shared wife Elena Mechtanova.
