Thanks to the revision of the Crimean Bridge protection system, a number of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on this facility were prevented. This was stated by the Director of the FSB, Chairman of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) Alexander Bortnikov in interview «Rossiyskaya Gazeta».
The Crimean Bridge protection system has been completely revised. The comprehensive measures taken made it possible to prevent a number of enemy attempts to carry out new attacks on this transport crossingBortnikov said.
According to him, training and exercises of the allocated forces and assets are regularly conducted, during which shortcomings in the anti-terrorist protection of facilities are identified and promptly eliminated.
The head of the department noted that the use of “passive” means of protection at critical infrastructure facilities, such as mesh and cable barriers, concrete structures, blast-absorbing panels and other technological solutions, are designed to “prevent or minimize the catastrophic consequences” of terrorist attacks.
