The Saki District Court of the Republic of Crimea, having considered a criminal case against a 37-year-old resident of the Saki region in a closed court session, issued a guilty verdict. The man was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 135 (indecent acts) and Part 3 of Article 134 (sexual intercourse with a person under 14 years of age) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The court found that in the period 2022-2023, the convict, being the stepfather of the victim, repeatedly committed indecent acts and sexual intercourse against a minor, born in 2009. At the time of the crimes, the victim was 12-13 years old, which was reliably known to the convicted person due to her long-term cohabitation with the girl’s family.
The defendant did not admit his guilt in committing the acts accused of him. However, his guilt was confirmed by the totality of evidence examined by the court, including the testimony of the victim, and other materials of the criminal case.
The court qualified the crime as a serious crime against the sexual integrity of a minor, and, based on the totality of the crimes, imposed a sentence of 8 years in prison to be served in a general regime correctional colony. The convict was taken into custody in the courtroom. In addition, the court granted a civil claim for compensation for moral damage caused to the victim. 300,000 rubles were recovered from the convicted person in favor of the minor.
The verdict has not entered into legal force and can be appealed in accordance with the procedure established by law.
