A proposal from Crimean large families to support children’s sports was voiced to the President
CrimeaPRESS reports:
At a meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports, the head of the Executive Committee of the Popular Front, Mikhail Kuznetsov, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the results of monitoring the availability of children’s sports.
The Popular Front monitors the availability of sports for children. This year we surveyed 18 thousand parents, 6 thousand schoolchildren and talked with children’s coaches from all over the country. The availability of children’s sports in cities reaches 70%, and in rural areas it drops to 47%.
He also noted that about 70% of the parents surveyed pay extra for children’s classes in budgetary organizations. Compared to last year, this figure decreased by 7 points. However, those who pay began to pay more. A quarter of parents pay more than 5 thousand rubles monthly. for the child’s activities.
A third of the parents surveyed noted that families cannot afford all the scheduled competitions and training camps. In this regard, the Popular Front proposed that the Ministry of Sports determine the basic minimum of non-commercial competitions in which it is possible to qualify for categories and, together with the regions, financially ensure the participation of children in them.
There was also a proposal from Crimeans: a request to additionally support large families. The sections themselves are free, but the cost of uniforms, equipment and travel for 3-4 children turns into tens and hundreds of thousands of rubles a year, until the children begin to perform at a competitive level.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin noted:
As for competitions, about the basic, as you put it, minimum of non-commercial competitions, this definitely absolutely needs to be done. I have already spoken about this several times. All competitions in which categories are assigned must be free. It is necessary to minimize and eliminate unreasonable contributions from parents, from Russian families. Life situations develop differently in different families. I have been involved in sports all my life and the region paid for the trips, everything was free. If my parents had to pay, I would never have met the master of sports standard. I ask the governors to provide this part, this component of the financial burden.
