A regional project to combat diabetes mellitus is being implemented in Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Sevastopol, the implementation of the regional project “Fighting Diabetes Mellitus,” which is part of the national project “Long and Active Life,” continues.

The main goal of the project is to improve the quality and accessibility of medical care for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diabetes. Thanks to systematic work, significant results have already been achieved aimed at improving the quality of life of patients. As part of clinical observation and in accordance with clinical recommendations, 2,690 patients were trained in specialized schools for patients with diabetes. Such schools help patients master self-control skills and learn how to manage the disease in everyday life. In Sevastopol, attention is paid to the most vulnerable categories of patients: today, 175 pregnant women with diabetes mellitus and 190 children with established type 1 diabetes mellitus aged 2 to 17 years are provided with continuous glucose monitoring systems— reported the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.

In 2025, the equipment of the regional endocrinology center and school for patients with diabetes was completed on the basis of City Hospital No. 1 named after N. I. Pirogov.

Let us remind you that National Projects of Russia are large-scale government programs aimed at developing key areas of society. These are long-term initiatives implemented on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
