A resident of Crimea was convicted of justifying the bombing of the Crimean bridge

It was established that the man was the administrator of one of the Telegram channels. Under an online pseudonym, he published materials in which he justified the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge. Linguistic examination revealed statements in publications aimed at justifying terrorism.

A criminal case was initiated and investigated against the Crimean citizen under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Public calls for terrorist activities, justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism using the Internet.”

The 2nd Western District Military Court of Moscow found the Crimean citizen guilty of the charges and sentenced him to four years in prison in a general regime colony. The verdict came into forcethe message says.

It is noted that the Crimean resident had previously been convicted under the article “Rehabilitation of Nazism” and served a sentence for two years in a general regime colony.

In November 2025, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced eight defendants in the case of the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge in 2022 to life imprisonment.

Terrorist attacks on the Crimean Bridge

The first terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge occurred on the morning of October 8, 2022. On the road section on the Taman side, a truck exploded, as a result, seven fuel tanks of the train caught fire, and two automobile spans on the right side of the bridge partially collapsed. The explosion killed four people. The Russian FSB stated that the Ukrainian authorities were behind the terrorist attack; the SBU then refused to comment on information about its involvement.

Subsequently, then acting Head of the SBU Vasily Malyuk* (*edit: included in the Rosfinmonitoring register of terrorists and extremists) declared personal participation in the development and implementation of a terrorist act. A court in Moscow arrested Malyuk* in absentia in the case of the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge.

The bridge was attacked for the second time by two surface drones on the night of July 17, 2023. As a result of the explosion, a couple from the Belgorod region, who were traveling to Crimea with a child in a car, died; the girl survived, received moderate injuries and was taken to intensive care.
