A resident of Sevastopol lost 170 thousand rubles. “Cleaned” from the bank account by the cleaning service employees
The excessive carelessness of a resident of Sevastopol cost him a large sum of money.
The police found out that the 51-year-old Sevastopol resident invited cleaning service workers to restore order in his apartment. After the cleaning was completed, the owner of the dwelling, being in a state of intoxication, handed over his mobile phone to the 35-year-old cleaner, gave the password for Internet banking and asked him to pay for the service provided by himself. The man also said that he would need window cleaning and offered to do the work that evening. A few hours later, the cleaning service employee returned to the client and, taking advantage of his condition, as well as knowledge of the secret password for Internet banking, secretly took his smartphone and transferred 30,000 rubles to his card. The next two days, the attacker again paid visits to the victim and similarly stole another 140 thousand rubles. He spent all the stolen money on entertainment— reported the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol.
Having discovered the loss of a large amount from a bank account, the Sevastopol citizen contacted the police. As a result of operational-search measures, the criminal investigation department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Leninsky district detained a suspect, who turned out to be a citizen of the Republic of Belarus previously convicted of theft.
A criminal case was initiated against the detainee under part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Theft», he faces up to six years in prison. The defendant was detained in accordance with Art. 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, the issue of choosing a measure of restraint for him is being decided.
