A resident of Sevastopol was found guilty of the murder of a previously missing 24-year-old girl

The evidence collected by the investigators was recognized by the court as sufficient for issuing a guilty verdict on a 42-year-old resident of the Gagarinsky district of Sevastopol. He was found guilty of murder (part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

In the early days of April 2022, law enforcement agencies received information about the disappearance of a 24-year-old girl: her relatives reported that a resident of Sevastopol, working in a coffee shop, left her house on Pobeda Avenue on March 30 of this year for work, never returned and never returned to communication didn’t come out. All this time, work was carried out to search for the girl, various versions of her disappearance were worked out, including the commission of a violent crime against the missing— recalled the circumstances of the case in the regional department of the Investigative Committee.

The crime, committed in conditions of non-obviousness, was solved with the help of the expert capabilities of the bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol. On suspicion of murder, a resident of the Gagarinsky district, previously convicted of robbery, working as a builder, was detained.

The investigative department for the Nakhimovsky district of the city of Sevastopol and the court found that a man and a girl whom he met on social networks, on the evening of March 30, came to a private house where the builder was doing repairs. A quarrel ensued between new acquaintances, during which the man strangled his companion with a cord from clothes and lowered the body into the well, filling it with construction debris— reported in the Sledkom.

The detainee pleaded guilty to the crime. At the request of the investigator, the court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention.

Today, by a court decision, a resident of Sevastopol was found guilty of an alleged crime. In conjunction with the previously appointed suspended sentence for the robbery, the man was sentenced to 12 years in prison to be served in a penal colony with a strict regime. The verdict of the court did not enter into force.
