A resident of Sevastopol was sentenced to 15 years in prison for robbery and rape of a stranger

The evidence collected by the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol was recognized by the court as sufficient for issuing a guilty verdict against a 40-year-old resident of the Gagarinsky district of the city of Sevastopol. He was found guilty of robbery with the use of objects used as weapons, with illegal entry into a dwelling; in rape, combined with the threat of murder (clause «b» part 2 of article 132, part 3 of article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The Investigation Department for the Gagarinsky District and the court established that in the late evening of June 7, 2022, a stranger, armed with a knife, entered the apartment of a multi-storey building on Military Builders Street, in which a 25-year-old girl lived. Putting a knife to her throat and threatening to kill her, the attacker tied the hostess of the house and demanded the transfer of funds available in the apartment. Then the man raped the girl, searched the apartment and furniture in search of finances. Finding no valuables, he fled the scene.— reported in the Sledkom.
The identity of the attacker was established in cooperation with the operational officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol. The suspect was arrested and, at the request of the investigator, was taken into custody. During the investigation, a set of evidence was collected confirming his involvement in the crimes committed.
By a court verdict, the man was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in prison to be served in a penal colony with a further restriction of freedom for a period of 1.5 years.
