A Sevastopol resident kept hexogen and an explosive device at home
The prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol approved an indictment in a criminal case against a local resident born in 1954.
He is charged under Part 1 of Art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, carrying and storage of explosives and explosive devices). According to investigators, the pensioner stored at his place of residence an electric detonator and a briquette of hexogen weighing almost 700 g, which in TNT equivalent is about 1 kg, suitable for explosion. As a result of operational search activities, officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol seized an explosive substance and an explosive device, and opened a criminal case against the man. The criminal case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor’s office was sent to the Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol for consideration on the merits.
