A suspect in a robbery attack on a pensioner was detained in Sevastopol
It was established that a 60-year-old man previously convicted of causing grievous bodily harm, having been released from prison, came to Sevastopol. However, he did not have a permanent place of residence and spent the night wherever he could.
One day, while at a public transport stop in the area of Cape Fiolent, he noticed a 76-year-old pensioner who was waiting alone for his transport, and decided to commit another crime. Since the time was earlier and there were no strangers around, the attacker knocked the elderly man to the ground with a sharp push to the chest, and then continued to kick him in the body. When the pensioner stopped resisting, the man snatched his mobile phone worth more than five thousand rubles, and also took the bottle of beer he had started, after which he disappeared in an unknown direction.
The frightened pensioner turned to the police for help. Criminal investigation operatives of the Russian Department of Internal Affairs for the Balaklava region quickly tracked down the attacker and detained him. He did not admit to what he had done and insisted that he did not take the phone.— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
The investigative department has opened a criminal case against the detainee under Part 1 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery”, he faces up to eight years in prison.
