A suspect in a robbery attack on an office was detained in Yalta

Thanks to the coordinated actions of operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, together with colleagues from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Yalta, the suspect was detained in hot pursuit near his place of residence. He turned out to be a 49-year-old local resident. During interrogation, the detainee admitted to his crime. According to him, he decided to commit a crime after drinking alcohol, wanting to buy water skis, but not having the necessary amount for it.

According to the investigation, the attacker entered the office where the employee was and, taking out a household knife, demanded that money be handed over to him. The woman showed resilience and refused to comply with his demands. Then the attacker noticed a wad of cash on the shelf, took it and disappeared. To cover up the traces of the crime, the Yalta resident changed clothes and hid the stolen goods and his belongings with a friend. The police seized the stolen money and returned it to the rightful owner. The damage was compensated in full, the attacker did not have time to spend the stolen goods, — the details of the case were announced by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.

The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — “Robbery committed with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons.” The sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to 10 years in prison.

Currently, the suspect has been chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention.
