A sweet-tempered thief showed up in Simferopol — he stole expensive coffee and no less expensive sweets

In Simferopol, the deputy manager of one of the local grocery supermarkets contacted the police. The applicant explained that an unidentified man had stolen 15 packages of chocolates worth about 4,000 rubles from a shop window. Employees of the supermarket, noticing the crime, tried to stop the man, but the attacker managed to escape. Also, the police department received a statement from the head of the grocery store on the fact of stealing coffee in the amount of more than 3,000 rubles. The applicant explained that while watching the CCTV cameras, he discovered how an unknown man was putting the store’s products into a backpack, after which he left through the cash register without paying for the goods.
Operatives of Simferopol carried out operational-search activities, as a result of which they managed to establish the identity of the attacker. It turned out to be a 26-year-old Crimean who had previously been convicted and was wanted for a similar crime. The man was detained and taken to the police department, where he admitted his guilt and wrote a confession. The detainee said that he had a backpack with him, where he put the stolen property, after which, ignoring the store employees, he ran out of the premises. He sold all the stolen products to an unidentified person, and spent the money on his own needs.— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
According to part 1 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Robbery) and part 1 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft), criminal cases were initiated. The man faces up to 5 years in prison.
