A verdict in a criminal case of high treason was announced in Sevastopol
The Sevastopol City Court issued a guilty verdict in a criminal case against a 51-year-old local resident, former serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Cherny-Shvets.
He was found guilty under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason). It was established that the convict was recruited by his former colleague Sergei Likhomanov, who had previously been recruited by an SBU officer. As part of confidential cooperation with the SBU, in November 2023, these individuals jointly collected and transferred intelligence information about units and facilities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Sevastopol to a representative of the Ukrainian special service. In addition, Likhomanov was preparing to blow up one of the city’s railway bridges. Employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, during operational search activities, stopped the criminal activities of intruders,” reported the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.
Today, taking into account the already existing sentence for illegal acquisition, transportation and storage of explosives and explosive devices, Cherny-Shvets was sentenced in the form of imprisonment for a term of 18 years in a strict regime correctional colony, with restriction of freedom for 1 year and a fine of 330 thousand rubles.
Earlier, in October 2025, the Southern District Military Court convicted Likhomanov under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason) and Part 1 of Art. 30 – clause “c”, part 2, art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation for a terrorist act).
