About 300 trees will be planted in Sevastopol as part of the Green Street campaign

The planting of greenery has been completed on Semipalatinskaya Street as part of the city’s “Green Street” campaign. 146 trees were planted here — this is the largest amount of landscaping among the objects of the action. The promotion started in December last year and will last until November of this year. Previously, the work was carried out on Gogol Street; the planting on Fadeev Street has now been completed.

On Semipalatinskaya Street, as part of the promotion, not only coniferous, but also deciduous species are presented. The Thunberg barberry bush was also planted for the first time. The choice of plants was carried out taking into account the terrain and plants already growing in the area— said Vera Tolkacheva, Deputy Head of the Department — Head of the Department of Environmental Regulation and State Accounting of the Department of Natural Resources and Ecology.

Thunberg barberry was chosen as a frost- and drought-resistant plant that will serve as a hedge separating the sidewalk from the roadway.

In total, about 300 trees are planned to be planted as part of the campaign. Regular maintenance work will begin in April, including watering, tying up and fertilizing green spaces.
