In Crimea, on the territory of the memorial complex «Krasny» concentration camp in Simferopol, an international action «Garden of Memory» was held today. Its participants planted seedlings of Crimean pine in memory of the defending soldiers who fell during the Great Patriotic War and during the NWO.
Crimea has been participating in the «Garden of Memory» campaign for more than a year. This action has become a wonderful patriotic undertaking — each of us can perpetuate the memory of the fallen war heroes and at the same time make a feasible contribution to the ecology of Crimea. The trees planted today are the personification of the continuity of generations, a tribute to the memory and respect for our soldiers who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, and the victims of Nazism. It is important that the tragic and heroic pages of history be remembered not only on holidays and memorable days— said the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, who took part in the «Garden of Memory» action.
The event was also attended by Hero of Russia Honorary Consul of Nicaragua in the Republic of Crimea Oleg Belaventsev, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Yefim Fix, Honored Artist of Russia Denis Maidanov, members of the Presidium and deputies of the Crimean Parliament, members of the Government of the Republic of Crimea, volunteers and concerned citizens.
In total, 126 seedlings of the Crimean pine were planted today in memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War and the soldiers-defenders of the Northern Military District. Landing area — 0.5 ha.
The «Garden of Memory» is an international action, the purpose of which is to plant 27 million trees in memory of every one who died during the Great Patriotic War. The action is implemented within the framework of the national project «Ecology» with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Federal Forestry Agency and the All-Russian Public Movement «Volunteers of Victory». The Republic of Crimea takes part in the international action «Garden of Memory» for the fourth time. In 2023, the promotion will last from March 18 to April 28.
