An attempt to distribute drugs was stopped in the Saki region

Saki district police officers successfully prevented the distribution of marijuana. During the operational activities, a 55-year-old local resident, who had previously been prosecuted for drug trafficking, was detained.

The suspect, as he himself claims, collected parts of the cannabis plant, dried them and stored them at his home exclusively for personal consumption. However, during a search of his home, police found evidence indicating possible drug sales. A mobile phone, electronic scales, empty zip bags with residual substances, as well as 11 small bags of dried, crushed marijuana were seized.

The examination confirmed that the seized substance was a narcotic substance — cannabis (marijuana), the total weight of which was more than 33 grams.

In addition, an administrative protocol was drawn up in relation to the detainee under Part 1 of Art. 6.9 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Consumption of narcotic drugs without a doctor’s prescription”— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.

Investigators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saki» opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30 hours 3 tbsp. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Attempt at illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs.” The defendant faces a penalty of imprisonment for a term of 8 to 15 years. He is currently in custody.
