Another magnetic storm hits the Earth
A protracted G2 magnetic storm has hit the Earth and will continue until Saturday afternoon. This is reported by Laboratory solar astronomy of the Institute of Space Research (IKI) RAS.
According to scientists, the G2 level geomagnetic disturbance began at 9 a.m. and will last until noon. Further, the magnetosphere will become calmer, but until the end of the day it will still periodically enter the pre-storm “yellow” zone.
The new cosmic impact, according to the Laboratory’s forecast, will occur at 6 a.m., its strength will also reach the G2 level. The magnetic storm is expected to end at noon.
The day before the Laboratory predicted weak and medium magnetic storms on Friday due to new solar flares.
