The Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol published a video of the spectacular detention of two poachers.
The criminal prey of the attackers was a wild boar, which they shot in the forest of the Baidarsky state natural landscape reserve of regional significance.
It has been established that a 53-year-old resident of Sevastopol, owning a registered hunting carbine, as well as night vision and silent shooting devices, agreed with his 45-year-old friend on a joint hunt. To do this, at night, the two men arrived at the territory of the nature reserve, tracked down the prey, fired two aimed shots and shot the animal. After butchering the carcass of a wild boar they killed, the attackers divided the illegally obtained trophy and fled the scene.— reports the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
Poachers were detained «in hot pursuit.» During the inspection of the car in which the suspects were moving, a hunting carbine with cartridges, night vision and silent shooting devices, as well as fragments of the carcass of a wild animal were found and seized.
By their unlawful actions, the attackers caused material damage to the State Hunting Fund of the Russian Federation, represented by the Department of Natural Resources and Ecology of the city of Sevastopol, in the total amount of 30 thousand rubles.the police said.
In relation to the suspects, the Department of Inquiry of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Balaklavsky District initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal hunting”), they face up to five years in prison.
