Apartments in a building under construction? In Sevastopol, a verdict was passed in a criminal case of theft of 2.6 million rubles

Having agreed with the position of the state prosecutor of the prosecutor’s office of the Leninsky district of Sevastopol, the court issued a guilty verdict in a criminal case against a 50-year-old woman and her 65-year-old partner.

They were found guilty under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy on an especially large scale).

It was established that the accomplices attracted funds from citizens under the pretext of purchasing studio apartments in a building under construction on a land plot owned by a woman on Korobkova Passage in Sevastopol. At the same time, in violation of the legislation on shared-equity construction of multi-apartment housing, the convicts entered into purchase and sale agreements with the victims, knowing for certain that they would not be able to actually provide them with ownership of the apartments. The site on which the construction of an apartment building was planned is intended for individual residential development; the construction of multi-apartment housing on it is prohibited.

Thus, from November 2021 to July 2023, they stole 2.6 million rubles from two victims,” the details of the case were announced by the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.

During the investigation, the damage was compensated.

The Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol sentenced the woman to 3 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 3 years, and to the man 2 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 2 years.

Currently, another criminal case is being investigated, initiated based on the materials of the prosecutor’s investigation in connection with the commission of similar actions in relation to three more victims who also wanted to buy studio apartments in the same building.
