As part of the “Goldfish” project, more than 900 young Sevastopol residents learned to swim last year

In Sevastopol, for the third year in a row, the “Goldfish” project to teach children swimming has been successfully implemented. The initiative is carried out within the framework of the interdepartmental program “Swimming for All” on behalf of President Vladimir Putin.

The project was named after the Olympic swimming champion Galina Prozumenshchikova, who was nicknamed “Goldfish”. The Aquatic Sports Palace, on the basis of which the project is being implemented, is named after the outstanding Sevastopol athlete. The decision on the name of the school was made during the opening of the sports facility with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Classes are held free of charge for children aged 6 to 10 years and for children with disabilities from 7 to 15 years. In addition, since last year, additional groups have been opened for children of participants in a special military operation. They undergo a full 36-hour training program at the Aquatics Palace swimming pool.

Training takes place at two sports facilities:

  • Palace of Aquatic Sports named after Galina Prozumenshchikova (Streletsky Spusk, 1);
  • Sports and recreation complex in Inkerman (Simferopol highway, 22).

In 2025, 910 Sevastopol children mastered their first swimming skills, including 130 children with disabilities. This year it is planned to reach about a thousand young Sevastopol residents.

You can sign up for classes by calling: +7 (978) 524-31-24 on weekdays from 9:00 to 16:00. Detailed information is posted on the official website.
