Severe frosts in January and early February 2026 provoked a noticeable increase in demand for repair and plumbing services. According to Avito Services, in the period from January 1 to February 4, 2026, the demand for window and balcony repair services in the Southern Federal District increased by 37% year-on-year. Insulation and sealing of windows have become especially popular — for each of these areas, demand has more than doubled.

Most often, residents of the south of Russia were interested in window insulation — demand increased 2.4 times, window sealing — more than doubled, and window frame sealing joints — doubled. Demand for window adjustment increased by 83%, for replacement of seals — by 76%, for replacement of window fittings — by 63%, for replacement of window glass — by 32%, for waterproofing balconies — by 27%, for turnkey repairs of balconies and loggias — by 21%, for insulation of balconies and loggias — by 8%.

This dynamics is explained by the fact that windows and balconies are the first to react to a sharp drop in temperature: seals freeze, drafts appear at the junction of frames, ice and condensation form on the glass. As a result, owners are forced to quickly carry out repairs and additional insulation in order to maintain heat in the premises.

Cold weather also increased demand for plumbing services by 15%. Searches for pipe defrosting services began to more than double, and the demand for emergency calls to plumbers increased by 43%.

Among preventive and maintenance work, the most noticeable increase in interest was in flushing pipes and heating radiators (+70%). Demand also increased for the installation of water heaters (+45%), verification of heat meters (+37%), installation of water heated floors (+32%), repair of heating radiators (+31%), elimination of leaks (+28%), installation of heating radiators (+9%), installation of heating pipes (+6%) and verification of water meters (+5%).
