A video message from a mother whose 23-year-old son with disabilities is undergoing inpatient treatment in one of the medical institutions in the city of Yalta has been distributed on social media. In November of this year, during her next visit to her son at the institution, the mother discovered burns from a heater on his back, which the administration of the medical institution kept silent about.

On behalf of the head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, V.N. Terentyev, the territorial investigative department organized an inspection under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of citizens). Currently, investigators have organized an inspection of the scene of the incident, are studying medical documentation, and have ordered the necessary examinations. Investigators will establish the causes of the incident and evaluate the actions of medical personnel and the management of the institution, — the department’s press service reported.

The progress of the audit and its results were put under personal control by the head of the Main Investigation Department.
