“Constellation of Champions”: Crimean outstanding athletes were awarded well-deserved awards
The Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, took part in the “Constellation of Champions” gala event in honor of the best athletes and coaches, physical education and sports organizations and institutions of the Republic of Crimea at the end of 2025. The ceremony began with a minute of silence in memory of the fallen athletes and coaches who took part in the special military operation. In his welcoming speech, Sergei Aksenov highly appreciated the achievements of the Crimean athletes.
I would like to say a word of gratitude to the athletes and their coaches, heads of sports federations and other organizations for their great contribution to the development and popularization of physical culture and sports in Crimea, for promoting a healthy lifestyle among Crimeans. In addition, you promote a positive image of Crimea and all of Russia on international platforms. Thanks to you, the world community will learn more about us. This is what will ultimately help us break through all barriers and blockadesnoted the Head of the Republic.
Sergei Aksenov emphasized that with the support of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the federal center in Crimea, the development and modernization of sports infrastructure will continue.
New sports and recreation centers are being built in cities and villages, stadiums are being renovated, and sports grounds are opening. For example, options for creating an athletics arena in Simferopol are currently being discussed. We will bring this issue up for discussion in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. I am confident that its Chairman Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko will support the implementation of this projectsaid the Head of Crimea.
Separately, Sergei Aksyonov emphasized the readiness of the authorities and patrons to continue to provide athletes with the necessary equipment and uniforms in accordance with the calendar plan at the expense of budgetary funds and extra-budgetary sources of funding.
For high professionalism, significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports and special services to the republic, Sergei Aksyonov awarded athletes and coaches with a Certificate of Honor and Gratitude from the Head of the Republic of Crimea. In addition, awards were presented to the winners in the categories “Best Sports Head”, “Best Sports City”, “Best Sports District”.
The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Alla Ponomarenko, Minister of Sports of the Republic of Crimea Olga Torubarova, Commander of the 18th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District Major General Andrei Pyataev, and others.
REFERENCE. In 2025, Crimean athletes won 2,512 medals, including 177 gold, at championships, cups, Russian championships, all-Russian competitions, as well as at world, European and international competitions.
In order to develop physical culture and sports on the territory of the Republic of Crimea, about 100 public organizations have been created and operate that have received state accreditation and are endowed with the status of a regional sports federation for more than 100 sports.
