Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov laid flowers at the monument to Soviet soldiers at the Military Memorial Cemetery in Simferopol during a solemn ceremony dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Great Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
We are proud of the Great Victory and understand how important it was. At one time, the enemy was not completely destroyed, and now, in the course of the NMD, we are again moving towards the same goals that our ancestors had in 1941-1945. There is no other way. We take an example from our veterans and will not disgrace the memory of the deeds of the winners. Today’s generation of warrior-defenders will certainly defend the interests of our great motherland, our great Russia. Happy holiday! Victory will be ours! — said the Head of the Crimea.
Sergey Aksyonov also added that it is very important to support veterans, because only thanks to them we can find out what really happened during the Great Patriotic War.
The more days they are with us, the more we will be able to find out at what cost the Victory was given to us then, in the 45th. There is history, many books have been written, but eyewitness accounts of those years are the most valuable thing we have, — emphasizes the Head of the Republic.
Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov recalled the importance of preserving their history for Russians.
Crimea is well prepared for the celebration of Victory Day: all monuments are put in order, new monuments and memorial complexes are opened— also noted Vladimir Konstantinov.
In addition, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the Eternal Flame memorial at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Yu.A. Gagarin in Simferopol.
The events were attended by Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District Kirill Stepanov, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk, servicemen of the 22nd Army Corps of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, heads of ministries and departments, and others.
