Hemp was grown in a greenhouse by a resident of the village of Zuya, Belogorsk district. He is now deprived of liberty by the Belogorsky District Court of the Republic of Crimea for attempted illegal sale of parts of plants containing narcotic drugs on a large scale. Will spend in a penal colony of strict regime 10 years.
The court found that a local resident in a greenhouse on the territory of his household in the village of Zuya from May to September 2021 grew hemp. The illegal activity of the Crimean citizen was suppressed by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol in September last year. A batch of 14 bushes of the indicated plant was seized by law enforcement officers during the operational and investigative measures (in terms of the dried substance, it amounted to 457, 457 gr.), — reported the press service of the court.
The court qualified the actions of a local resident as an attempt to illegally sell parts of plants containing narcotic drugs on a large scale (part 3 of article 30 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, paragraph «d» of part 4 of the article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The 22-year-old defendant pleaded not guilty, explaining the planting, care and collection of plants for the purpose of personal use.
The representative of the state prosecution made proposals to the court on the application of the criminal law and the appointment of a sentence of years of imprisonment for the defendant.
The court, having comprehensively studied the materials of the case, taking into account the position of the public prosecutor, the fact that the defendant was brought to criminal responsibility for the first time, his satisfactory characteristics at the place of residence, imposed a punishment related to the isolation of the perpetrator from society.
