“Crimean Harbors” — an exhibition of watercolors by Lyudmila Popova will be presented in Simferopol
The exhibition of watercolors by Lyudmila Popova “Crimean Harbors” opens on April 5, 2026 in Gallery 10, located on the 2nd and 4th floors of the Centrum Shopping Center in Simferopol. The meeting with the author will take place at 16.00 on the 4th floor of Gallery 10. The exhibition will be open until May 4, 2026. It is a series of 20 works addressing the sea as a space of memory, freedom, personal belonging and love for the native land. The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Karadag Creative Union and Gallery 10. It opens the season of exhibitions and friendly cooperation.
Watercolor has become Lyudmila Popova’s favorite material and the main means of artistic expression. It was in this technique that her creative style, close to impressionism, was most fully manifested: attention to the fleeting states of nature, the play of light on water, the mobility of the sky, the vibration of color and subtle emotional impressions of what was seen. Her works are distinguished by lightness, transparency of the painting layer, freshness of perception and the desire to convey not so much an exact look as the mood of the moment,” say the organizers.
Lyudmila Popova is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, the Union of Watercolor Painters of Russia, the International Watercolor Society IWS, and the Creative Union Karadag.
Since 2020, Lyudmila Popova has been a regular participant in international and regional exhibitions and competitions. Her works have been exhibited in Moscow, as well as in France, Italy, Poland, Mexico, Japan and China. The artist’s watercolors are in the A. Beketov Museum-Estate, the Suzdal City Administration, the Partenitsky House of Culture, the State Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve “Tavrichesky Chersonese”, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
