Crimean investigators handed over a copy of the Banner of Victory and tactical equipment to the fighters in the NVO zone
CrimeaPRESS reports:
As part of the All-Russian relay race of the Investigative Committee of Russia “Victory Banner of my Family: ZOV Ancestors”, officers from all regions of the country hand over copies of the Victory Banner, which depict portraits of their heroic grandfathers and great-grandfathers, to the zone of the special military operation. This patriotic action was joined by the personnel of the Main Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. On behalf of the team, a copy of the Banner of Victory was made with the image of a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Leonid Georgievich Zemlyakov.
My grandfather took part in defensive and offensive battles near Rzhev, Vitebsk, in the Smolensk region. During the war he was seriously wounded three times, but always returned to duty. I want our battle brothers on the front line today, together with my grandfather, to complete what they started and defeat the fascist-Nazi plague. Victory will be ours! The enemy will be defeated! — with such parting words, the head of the Main Investigation Department Vladimir Terentyev handed over the Banner of Victory to the founder of the volunteer organization «Team of Opportunities» Evgeny Pichugin.
The life and battle path of Leonid Georgievich is an example for the modern generation. On June 22, 1941, from the fourth year of the Magnitogorsk Pedagogical Institute, he was drafted into the Soviet Army and enrolled as a cadet at the Smolensk Military Infantry School, which he graduated with excellent marks in December 1941. With the rank of lieutenant, he was sent to the front, commanded a rifle company, a battalion. For military distinction, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, two orders of the Red Star, medals «For Military Merit», «For Irreproachable Service in the Armed Forces of the USSR» and other awards. Since 1944, he was at the disposal of the Military Council of the Leningrad Front.
After the end of the war, he worked in the Slavsky RVC of the Pskov Region, in the personnel department of the Northern Group of Forces in the Polish People’s Republic, in the Headquarters of the Voronezh Military District, in the Davydovsky and Ostrogozhsky District Commissariats of the Voronezh Region as a district military commissar. In 1961 he was demobilized with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
Together with the Banner of Victory and the front-line history of L.G. Zemlyakov, the officers sent tactical equipment to the front line of the fighters of the 126th Separate Guards Coastal Defense Brigade, with whom they became close friends from the beginning of the NMD. It will certainly help bring Victory closer!
The investigators thanked the founder of the Crimean volunteer movement «Team of Opportunities» Yevgeny Pichugin, who, from the very beginning of the special operation, with his like-minded people, has been assisting in the transfer of goods to military personnel. In response, Yevgeny, who had returned from the war zone the day before, handed the flag of the Russian Federation to Vladimir Terentyev from the soldiers with words of gratitude for the constant help and support of the front.
And now the Banner of Victory with a portrait of a veteran of the Great Patriotic War Leonid Zemlyakov is in combat positions, and tactical equipment is already in action.
The command and fighters of the unit of the 126th Separate Guards Coastal Defense Brigade thank the employees of the Investigative Committee of Russia and their families for a reliable rear: the fighters admit that the constant support of officers and volunteers helps to effectively fulfill the tasks assigned to the unit. And now, when the Hero-front-line soldier looks at them from the Banner of Victory, seriously wounded three times, but always returning to the battlefields, morale will always be on top and Victory will be inevitable!
