Crimean prosecutor's office sent to court a criminal case on attempted sale of more than a kilogram of «mephedrone»

The prosecutor’s office of the Crimea approved the indictment in a criminal case against a resident of the region. He is accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 5 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempt to illegally sell narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances on an especially large scale).
According to the investigation, the defendant, having entered into an agreement with a person unidentified during the investigation, the criminal case against which was separated into a separate proceeding, extracted a large batch of the narcotic drug «mephedrone» weighing more than 1 kg from a «cache» in the city of Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Territory. He transported the prohibited substances by car to the area in the village of Mirnoye, Simferopol region, where he was supposed to place them in sparsely populated places. His criminal activities were suppressed by law enforcement officers, more than 1 kg of «mephedrone» was seized from illegal circulation— reported in the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
The criminal case with the approved indictment was sent to the Simferopol District Court for consideration on the merits.
