Crimeans are 98% provided with mobile communications
Residents of the Republic of Crimea are 98% provided with mobile communications, the total coverage is 70%, operators are building and modernizing mobile stations. About this TASS reported the regional Ministry of Internal Policy, Information and Communications.
Almost all settlements of the Republic of Crimea, located on 70% of the region’s territory, in which 98% of the residents live, are generally provided with the opportunity to receive mobile communication services. The exception is certain territories of the peninsula — these are small settlements, within whose borders less than 2% of the population lives, as well as mountains, forests and terrain unsuitable for habitation.says the response to a TASS request, signed by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Information of the Republic Alexander Dyachenko.
According to him, telecom operators in the region in 2025 built 61 mobile communication base stations, modernized 290 base stations, and took measures to correct radio coverage at mobile radiotelephone base stations. The increase in base stations has more than tripled compared to 2014, and work continues to upgrade stations to the 4G level.
It is noted that today the mobile communications market in the republic is represented by three regional operators: KTK-Telecom, K-Telecom and Miranda-Media, and the communications operator Agat is preparing to enter the market.
The ministry recalled that in 60 small settlements, where from 100 to 1 thousand people live and there is no communication, including pay phone, mobile radiotelephone base stations were built in 2021-2025, which made it possible to provide more than 15 thousand residents with communications and high-speed mobile access to the Internet.
