Crimeans complain about ticks — they bite, they say, actively
More than six thousand Russians in Crimea, Kuban and other regions of the Russian Federation turned to medical organizations in connection with tick bites. This was reported by the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.
Since the beginning of the season, more than 6 thousand people have contacted medical organizations due to tick bites. The largest number of bites were registered in the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, in the Republic of Crimea, in the Rostov, Lipetsk, Chelyabinsk, Leningrad, Moscow, Kostroma, Voronezh, Samara and Omsk regions, as well as in Moscow and St. Petersburgthe message says.
According to the department, an increase in the number of calls due to tick bites has been observed since the end of March.
For the purpose of prevention, acaricidal treatment of over 4.3 thousand hectares of territory was carried out in 30 regions of Russia.
The department also noted that in the country as a whole, more than 1.2 million people were vaccinated against tick-borne viral encephalitis this year.
