Crimeans took third overall team place in meeting GTO standards at the X Spartakiad of Russian Pensioners

In the personal competition for fulfilling the testing standards of the GTO complex, Andrey Pavlenko (77 years old) successfully performed — third place, Tamara Ivanova (64 years old) — seventh, Ivan Arinin (70 years old) — thirteenth.
Sergei Aksyonov congratulated the athletes on their successful performance, noting that such a lifestyle is the best example to follow.
Crimean pensioners demonstrate excellent results by participating in various competitions. They show by their example how important sports and physical activity are in old age. Congratulations to our team on their new achievement! I wish you to stay healthy, active and inspire young people for as long as possible“b,” said the Head of the Republic.
In turn, members of the team thanked Sergei Aksenov for his support and help in providing sports uniforms.
The event was attended by the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Crimea Olga Torubarova.
REFERENCE. The Xth Spartakiad of Russian Pensioners was held from September 30 to October 5 in Tyumen and was timed to coincide with the Day of the Elderly. In total, more than 700 people from 78 regions of the country took part in the competition, as well as teams from Australia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Finland. Athletes competed in sports such as athletics, swimming, table tennis, and chess.
