Disclosure personal data of neighbors in a communal chat may entail an administrative fine of up to 300 thousand rubles, and in case of repeated violation — up to half a million. This was announced by the director of the Institute of Information and Media Security of the Kutafin University (MSAL) Vladimir Nikishin.
Posting personal data of house residents in a house chat without the consent of the subject is unlawful processing of personal data, which is an administrative offense provided for in Part 1 of Article 13.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation and entails the imposition of an administrative finehe told RIA Novosti.
According to the expert, citizens who posted data without the consent of a neighbor face an administrative fine of up to 15 thousand rubles, for officials — up to 100 thousand rubles, and for legal entities — up to 300 thousand rubles.
However, a repeated violation may result in more severe sanctions. In this case, the fine increases for citizens to 30 thousand rubles, for officials — to 200 thousand rubles, and for legal entities — to 500 thousand rubles, the agency’s interlocutor added.
Earlier in Roskomnadzor statedthat the Telegram messenger has created and maintains an infrastructure that allows a number of services to illegally distribute personal data of Russians.
