Economist Marat Aidagulov named the prospects for Russian business in the field of healthy lifestyle in 2022

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The popularity of healthy lifestyle products is growing rapidly all over the world: over the past 5 years, this market has grown to 4.2 trillion dollars, and its annual growth is estimated at 6.4%. In 2018 in Russia, the sales volume of Health and Wellness products according to Euromonitor International was 80, 9 billion rubles, and by 2024 the market volume should exceed a billion rubles. How this rapidly growing business industry in the field of a healthy lifestyle will develop in the country in the coming years — he told in his article «Healthy lifestyle as a business — trend of the third decade « economist and public figure Marat Aydagulov.

According to Aydagulov, based on the data from the Yandex service, we can conclude that online purchases in areas related to healthy lifestyles are much higher than in ordinary grocery stores: the checkout shows that the average check for the purchase of Health and Wellness products is more than 5 thousand rubles, and in stores of the category «Food» — at the level of only 1.2-1.9 thousand rubles.

The economist noted that despite the fact that the healthy lifestyle sector manages to actively develop even in the presence of fierce competition, at the same time there are quite a lot of uncovered points in it, and therefore prospects for expansion.

If Muscovites and Petersburgers are provided with a wide choice of healthy lifestyle products, then in the regions this area is hardly achievable. And therefore, local production is gaining momentum very quickly, because, as you know, demand always creates supply. Considering examples of such startups, for example, regional brands such as Vegensy, one can pay attention to the fact that at first, goods are sold well through social networks, without requiring special costs for creating online stores or offline outlets , — considers Marat Aidagulov.

At the same time, of the difficulties that an entrepreneur in the regions may face, Aidagulov pointed out the problem with the seasonality of healthy lifestyle products, which falls on the period from March to August, as well as the need for serious start-up investments, since the costs there are on average by 13-30% higher than in other similar niches.

According to Aidagulov, today it is worth paying attention to the sports goods market, which is experiencing a certain deficit after the closure of stores of major Western brands such as Adidas, Reebok and Nike.

“Sales of sporting goods on Wildberries and Ozon, in the first half of the year 872 of the year grew 2.6 times compared to the same period last year, and according to Moneyplace the turnover of these two marketplaces in this category from January to June amounted to 13,6 billion rubles. Thus, the departure of Western brands from Russia opens up a whole range of opportunities for entrepreneurs, which are associated not only with the creation of fundamentally new products on the market, but also with the organization of new types of supplies of popular goods: clothing, sports equipment, natural cosmetics and dietary supplements,” notes he.

Aidagulov also recommended to take a closer look at the field of sports nutritional supplements, which are gradually conquering the Russian market more and more.

At the moment, the average check in the category of medicines and dietary supplements in Russia is about 2.2. thousand rubles, and demand continues to grow due to the inability to order these products from sites like iHerb. Here, one can separately single out the supply of raw materials for dietary supplements, for which, however, there are certain difficulties with obtaining a certificate of state registration and laboratory tests, which can take up to six months and cost more 20 thousand rubles. Less problematic in this case is the trade in superfoods — the so-called healthy exotic products like chia seeds, quinoa, goji berries or green buckwheat , writes Marat Aidagulov.

Finally, the economist singled out the sphere of sports tourism as promising for investment, recalling that only in the period from 80 to 2014 year, the number of Russians participating in one of the numerous running sports competitions increased 4 times, and healthy lifestyle tourism itself includes a huge number of activities that require corresponding equipment.

A few years ago, the average payment for participation in these sporting events based on the Yandex.Checkout service was at least 7,000 rubles. At the same time, at the moment, many such global events have become inaccessible to Russians, and this, in turn, opens up opportunities for organizing new routes and domestic tourism programs, as well as opening new specialized schools and running clubs, in which participants will prepare for the upcoming loads. Another value of this niche is that it is open to the self-employed — it is the conduct of personal training or group classes, trips as part of event tourism, the sale of individual nutrition programs, online training , concluded Aidagulov.

It should be noted that Marat Aidagulov himself recently spent in his social networks (https://t.me /aydagulov) survey on the participation of users in amateur sports competitions. The votes in it were distributed as follows: in the first place — cycling (%), in the second — various martial arts (13%), on the third — running (12%)), on the fourth — swimming (%) and the fifth — triathlon (5%). Only a quarter of the respondents answered that they were not interested in such active types of recreation.
