Continental competitions in three types of wrestling among athletes of this age category are being held from May 11 to 17 in Samokov (Bulgaria).

Edem Paiziev had no equal in the weight category up to 55 kg.

In qualifying, our fellow countryman defeated the Croatian Romano Bako (4:0), in the 1/8 and 1/4 finals with the same score (10:1) he defeated the Hungarian Keve Kovacs and the Turk Baris Soyla, respectively, in the semifinals he defeated the Armenian Gegham Yeghiazaryan (4:1), and in the tense final match — the Azerbaijani Gurban Mazhnunov (2:1).
