Epiphany: congratulations from the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev

Dear residents of Sevastopol, Orthodox Christians!

Epiphany of the Lord is one of the brightest days of the year. A holiday that is felt in a special way in our Hero City. After all, it was here, on the sacred land of ancient Chersonesus, that Prince Vladimir was baptized, defining the spiritual path of Rus’ and laying the foundations of a great culture.

Symbolically, through water, we wash away all our sins. This miracle is bestowed only by the sacrament of baptism. It doesn’t matter at what age a person comes to God. It is important that the internal state of light and mercy for the sake of one’s neighbor be maintained throughout life.

Baptism is always a time of hope. Even if it is cold outside and there is a piercing wind, your soul becomes warm. This holiday reminds us of the main thing: purity of thoughts, compassion and that incredible inner strength that has always helped people survive at any time.

Let mutual understanding always reign in your families, and peace and confidence in the future in your hearts. Let our defenders, who are far from home today, feel our support and the warmth of our prayers.

Take care of each other, be merciful and do as many good deeds as possible — these are the greatness of our city.

Happy holiday, my dears! Happy Baptism of the Lord!
