Exceeding chemical pollution standards was recorded in Crimean rivers
Excessive concentrations of ammonium nitrogen were detected at the Salgir River site in the village of Dvurechye. Excesses of nitrite nitrogen concentrations were detected in the sections of the Taraktash (Sudak), Salgir (Dvurechye and 100 meters below and 7 kilometers above the village of Gresovsky), Maly Salgir within the boundaries of Simferopolsays the results of the study.
Also, in some samples the content of organic substances was exceeded — on the Salgir rivers above and below the village of Gresovsky and in the area of the village of Dvurechye, as well as within the city of Simferopol and on the Biyuk-Karasu river (0.5 km above Belogorsk).
In addition, at the Salgira site in the village of Dvurechye, the concentration of phosphate phosphorus was exceeded, the organization reported.
Excesses of concentrations of biological oxygen consumption (BOD5) were noted in the sections of the rivers Taraktash (Sudak), Uskut (Privetnoye), Biyuk-Karasu (0.7 km below Belogorsk), Salgir (the village of Dvurechye), Maly Salgir (within Simferopol)says the report.
On the territory of the Republic, monitoring of the quality of surface water according to hydrochemical indicators is carried out on 14 watercourses and six reservoirs, at 22 points.
To assess the pollution of natural water, Roshydromet uses maximum permissible concentrations (MAC) of harmful substances for water in fishery reservoirs, as well as water bodies for domestic, drinking and cultural water use as a standard.
Surface waters can become contaminated with ammonia due to wastewater containing household and household waste. With an increased ammonium content, the sanitary condition of the reservoir sharply deteriorates, and the number of fish decreases. Groundwater with a level of ammonia nitrogen exceeding the maximum permissible concentration becomes unsuitable for domestic use, they say ecologists.
