Experts promise Russia a new wave of influenza and ARVI

In the last week of February, about 77 thousand cases of ARVI and influenza were registered in Russia. The incidence rate corresponds to the level of mid-September 2025… The continued activity of viruses in the spring may provoke a new wave of incidence of ARVI and influenzathe message says.

According to laboratory monitoring, against the backdrop of a general decrease in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza at low rates, the share of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 (swine flu) and influenza B viruses continues to increase. In the structure of respiratory viruses, rhinoviruses and seasonal coronaviruses prevail, and the share of PC viruses is also increasing.

In addition, according to the department, 4.7 thousand cases of COVID-19 were registered over the past week.

Previously, in the interregional department of Rospotrebnadzor for Crimea and Sevastopol reportedthat the incidence of ARVI on the peninsula decreased by 21.9% last week. The incidence in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol is almost 50% of the epidemic threshold level.
