Fine 500 rubles — license plates without the Russian flag will be punished
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A fine of 500 rubles faces car owners for driving with license plates issued since January 1, 2025 without the Russian flag. Relevant information RIA Novosti Crimea was confirmed by the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Republic.
As the department noted, on January 1, 2025, changes to GOST came into force, according to which the Russian tricolor must be placed on state registration plates.
From this date, state signs are issued only with the flag of the Russian Federation. For operating a vehicle with non-standard license plates, a fine of 500 rubles is provided.
The Crimean traffic police clarified that the new requirements apply only to vehicles that were registered after January 1, 2025. Car owners who registered their cars and received license plates without the tricolor before this date will not face fines.
The legislation does not oblige changing such license plates to new ones; replacement is the own desire of vehicle owners. Such car owners will not be held administratively liable.the department added.
